Tottenham sold a player years ago, and he claims he’d be willing to return as a coach.

Tom Huddlestone has stated that he would like to return to Tottenham Hotspur as a coach in the future.

Huddlestone was one of several Spurs icons who took part in a charity game over the weekend.

After the game, he spoke with Football London about his future plans.

Tom Huddlestone joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2005 after graduating from Derby County’s youth system.

He spent a short time on loan at Wolves before joining Tottenham and playing more than 200 appearances.

Huddlestone achieved worldwide prominence during this time period and participated in two European campaigns.

He later joined Hull City before returning to his hometown club in 2020.

The 36-year-old is now working as a player-coach with Manchester United’s under-21 group.

Huddlestone has recently stated that he would be willing to return to Tottenham as a coach in the future.

At Old Trafford, he’s already on his way up the coaching ladder.

Spurs have proven to be a place where new coaches are given the opportunity to step up when needed.

Huddlestone is eager to return to Tottenham as coach.

When asked about his fledgling coaching career, Huddlestone said, “I don’t know. I don’t know.” That would always be an option for me.

“I’m enjoying what I’m doing at Manchester United at the moment, and we’ll see what happens in the future.”

Tottenham already have a young ex-midfielder in charge in Ryan Mason.

Although their paths barely crossed at Spurs, they did play together briefly at Hull City.

Tottenham has a reputation of bringing back players to coach, and Huddlestone might be one of them.

Jermain Defoe is also currently employed at the club, as have Scott Parker and, temporarily, Ledley King.

Daniel Levy must now ensure that the proper man is brought in to succeed Mason next season.

Arne Slot and Xabi Alonso are two names mentioned in connection with the position.

As the campaign comes to a close, it is unclear who his first choice is.
