Tottenham Hotspur are looking to strengthen their team this summer, and Alasdair Gold has stated that Ivan Perisic is set to leave in the next weeks.
Tottenham must sort things up in the summer. They will require a new manager. The club also has a plethora of players who have underperformed.
Former manager Antonio Conte brought in Perisic. He has had some very good moments as well as some very bad times. Many people say he is a wise and experienced man.
His adaptability benefits the team. With his ability to play both defense and wing, it may come as a surprise that he is expected to leave.
The Croatian World Cup finalist has only been at Tottenham Hotspur for a year after joining on a free transfer from Inter Milan.
Alasdair Gold was discussing the Spurs squad when he mentioned Perisic, who has been described as ‘unbelievable’.
“Ivan Perisic is also being tipped to leave halfway through his two-year contract, meaning two very experienced, high-earning players leaving the club,” he stated.
Although Perisic is versatile and experienced, his departure from the club this summer is not surprising.
The Croatian is currently 34 years old, and his contract will expire next summer. With this in mind, Spurs will only have until the summer to secure a deal for him.
He allegedly earns a large salary. Perisic is said to earn roughly £180,000 each week at Spurs. This equates to £9.36 million each year.
Given that, it makes sense for the North London club to cut ways with Perisic this summer.
