According to Football Insider, Tottenham have begun talks with Feyenoord’s Arne Slot about becoming their new manager.
Following an interview, the Spurs leadership is said to have been ‘hugely impressed’ by the 44-year-old, and Slot is now in pole position to replace the job.
Tottenham is convinced that Slot is the best man for the job, and they intend to make an appointment with him next week.
An agreement between Slot and the North London club has not yet been reached, but talks are proceeding well and both parties are eager to close the deal.
To ward off Tottenham’s interest in Slot, Feyenoord are willing to offer him a hefty wage increase.
Slot has been at Feyenoord for the past two seasons after impressing during his first managerial spell at AZ Alkmaar.
Slot guided Feyenoord to third place in the Eredivisie and the Europa Conference League final in his first season in charge, the club’s first European final since 2002.
For his work throughout the 2021/22 season, he was elected Eredivisie Manager of the Year.
This season, Slot led Feyenoord to the league title for the first time since 2017, beating out rivals PSV and Ajax.
Slot will take charge of his 100th game for Feyenoord when they host FC Emmen on Sunday (21 May).
In his 99 matches as manager, he had a 64.65% victory rate, winning 64 and drawing 20 games.
