Vincent Kompany sent heart-touching message to tottenham manager as young coach accept take over

Clinton Morrison and Jeff Stelling have told Vincent Kompany to ‘go now’ and take over as manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Premier League striker expressed surprise that Burnley manager Vincent Kompany is on Tottenham’s managerial shortlist.

After dominating the Championship this season, the Manchester City legend is getting closer to guiding Burnley to the Premier League.

The Clarets have only lost two league games out of 38 this season and remain on track to reach 100 points.

Not only has Burnley’s sheer dominance caught the eye, but so has their manner of performance, as if they are a mini-version of Manchester City in England’s second tier – which is why Kompany is on Daniel Levy’s manager shortlist.

Should the Belgian leave Turf Moor for Tottenham Hotspur, Sky Sports News presenter Jeff Stelling believes he has no choice, and Clinton Morrison agreed, as they told Sky Sports News (01/04/23 at 12:15 pm).

“Vincent Kompany is another name on that list,” Morrison added. “I was taken aback by that.

“But he’s doing fantastically well at Burnley.” Does he want to go ahead and do it? I’m not going to tell Vincent Kompany what to do. Tottenham Hotspur is a massive football club. “You’d go there.”

“Next season, when Burnley is fourth or fifth from bottom in the Premier League,” Stelling responded. Who will remember Vincent Kompany’s actions this season? Isn’t now the time for him to leave?”

“It’s time to go now,” Morrison said. Tottenham Hotspur is a well-known football club. I know there’s talk about Manchester City, but how long do you have to wait for that? Pep could stay for three or four more years.”

Long-term and playstyle. Those are the two boxes Daniel Levy must check when hiring a new manager for Tottenham Hotspur.

Except for Spurs, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte have always been short-term managers who deliver during their time at the club.

However, their style of play, particularly what Conte produced, was a major talking point, so the decision-makers must ensure that the above two are delivered.
