Therefore, should Dallas draft a quarterback prospect? If yes, who could it be?
Jordan Travis is a name that has been linked to the Cowboys in the draft by some media rumors. Kevin Sherrington of the Dallas Morning News believes that the Florida State prospect is someone to keep an eye on in the second round.
Sherrington writes: “The Cowboys could use more offensive linemen and a cornerback in addition to linebackers. Perhaps a quarterback from Florida State, such as Jordan Travis. What’s wrong with this? Among them, three stand out.
One is that Dallas is unlikely to add a fourth quarterback unless it intends to make a move at the position because it already has three quarterbacks on the roster and under contract.
Second, respect to Sherrington notwithstanding, Travis doesn’t appear to be perceived this way by draft experts. Neither our man Dane Brugler nor NFL.com’s Chad Reuter rank him as a top-100 player or a top-eight quarterback prospect, and Reuter does not include him in the first three rounds of his most recent mock draft.
And third: In 11 games, Travis completed 63.9 percent of his passes for 2,756 yards, 20 touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He is regarded as a running threat after adding 176 more yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. However, he is also 6-1, so he would be going against a lot of scout preferences to somehow make it all the way up to Round 2.

McCarthy has a 1-3 postseason record; his lone victory came in the wild card round of the previous season in Tampa against 45-year-old Tom Brady and the NFC South champion Buccaneers. That’s the reason he’s under fire right now.
When asked about McCarthy’s tenure as the Dallas Cowboys’ head coach, Lewis responded, “This is one of the hardest jobs in America: quarterback and head coach.” “I think he did a fantastic job taking everything into account. All things considered, it’s difficult. We just made sure that we put our arms around each other and stayed together in the face of a lot of negativity, the media, and other forces working against us. We did a pretty good job, in my opinion. He was very helpful to me in my career, and I believe I learned a lot from him. Lewis said, “Look what he accomplished compared to what occurred when he wasn’t here. “We were having trouble breaking.500
He won 12 games in a row three times in a row. Thus, yes, I do hope that McCarthy returns.
Given that McCarthy and Jones made it possible for Turpin to have an NFL career, his gratitude to him is immeasurable. He is tied for the most touchdowns in kickoff and punt return combined TCU history (six), but he was dismissed from the Horned Frogs football program following allegations of domestic abuse that were ultimately dropped in favor of disorderly conduct. He was taken into custody in October 2021 on suspicion of misdemeanor assault against the same girlfriend. Turpin formally entered a guilty plea to the charge of assault resulting in bodily harm.
With Jones having cleared the path for Turpin to play in the NFL, McCarthy’s gratitude to him is immeasurable. The Horned Frogs football program let him go after domestic violence charges were eventually dropped in favor of disorderly conduct. He is tied for the most combined kickoff and punt return touchdowns in TCU history (six). When Turpin was charged with assault causing bodily injury, he formally entered a guilty plea. He was first arrested in October 2021 for misdemeanor assault against the same girlfriend.
Turpin declared, “My guy man is Mike McCarthy.” Turpin remarked on Monday, “He gave me an opportunity, especially coming this year on the offensive end.” I now have a great deal of respect for Mike. I approve of whatever he does.”
