Caitlin Clark’s record-breaking performance earned her the highest women’s regular season television ratings since 1999.

Sunday’s Iowa vs. Ohio State game officially brought Caitlin Clark’s record, with more than 4 million viewers watching the game on TV and a sizable portion of Americans, according to Fox Sports.

According to Sports Media Watch, the game was the most-watched women’s regular season game since 1999, when the UConn-Tennessee game averaged 3.88 million viewers.

But viewer ratings are only half the story. In the Hawkeyes’ 93-83 victory, Clark scored 35 points, passing Pete Maravich as the all-time leader in NCAA Division I men’s and women’s basketball. She broke her record by making two free throws just before halftime.

To further put things into perspective, Sunday’s game was the second most-watched college basketball game of the season (men’s, women’s) and the sixth most-watched basketball game of the season (including the NBA). Sports Media Watch points out that it was a game that was watched by many people. .

The only college game that drew more viewers was the Michigan-Arizona men’s game on Fox, which was played immediately after the NFL Thanksgiving game and drew 5.18 million viewers, according to the paper.

It is said that it attracted a large number of viewers. On top of that, the Iowa vs. Ohio game was the most-watched basketball game of the day. That’s more than the Boston Celtics vs. Golden State Warriors game, which drew an average of 3.01 million viewers.
