Birmingham City’s young star has 26 goals to his name for Premier League clubs.
Birmingham City Under-16 star Toby Ugozi is attracting interest from Premier League and League One clubs, according to a report from Football Insider.
Birmingham City have one of the best academies in the country. The Blues have seen many talented players rise through the ranks and be brought into the St Andrew’s first team or granted promotion further up the football ladder to the youth team.
One of the young stars to keep an eye on this season is U16 striker Ugozi, whose performances in the Championship club’s academy ranks have been noteworthy. Football Insider reported that Ugozi has scored 26 goals and provided 15 assists in 28 games this season and is wanted by several elite clubs.
Premier League and French Ligue 1 teams are eyeing the Birmingham City starlet, who is eligible to play in England and Nigeria. He has been with the Blues since 2016 and is regarded as one of the club’s best attacking talents.
Ugozi looks set for a bright future at Birmingham City, but his form at U16 level could see him rise through the ranks before breaking out at St Andrews. However, he looks like another promising player for the club.
There are currently several academy graduates in the top team. Jordan James, George Hall and Alfie Chan are talented midfielders who should be used regularly, while Romell Donovan is one of the players looking to break through the ranks.
Celebrities such as Jude and Job Bellingham took their talents elsewhere, with the former becoming one of the world’s best players at Real Madrid and then Borussia Dortmund. If Ugozi’s interest intensifies, he may make a decision about his future. Birmingham City is a club with a clear path to senior football, but a move to another academy could be in the best interest of his development if he is approached by a top club.
