Junior Messias returned to partial group training at Milanello on Tuesday afternoon, which suggests he could be available for the match against Empoli on Friday.
According to Sky Sport (via Milan News), the Brazilian winger did not participate in the entire session with the Milan squad, but he did participate in a portion of it, which represents progress.
That means the winger will most likely be in the squad when Milan hosts Empoli at San Siro on Friday night, in a Serie A weekend that will be different from most due to Easter.
Even if Stefano Pioli sticks with the 4-2-3-1 formation that he used in the 4-0 win over Napoli on Sunday, he is unlikely to start.
Brahim Diaz’s first-half performance and Alexis Saelemaekers’ second-half performance indicate that Pioli will start one of those two on the right wing.
