AC Milan and Leeds United contested for the signature of Charles De Ketelaere this summer, and the Premier League club has not given up on him, according to a source.
According to TEAMtalk, Leeds pushed hard to sign De Ketelaere and even offered more money to Club Brugge, but the player’s desire to join the Rossoneri won out and he transferred there for more than €30 million.
However, the Belgian has had a disappointing debut season, having played 33 games in all competitions and not yet scored, with only one assist to his name. He has only made seven starts and has been demoted to the benvch.
According to the source, De Ketelaere is also garnering the attention of Vincent Kompany at Burnley, as his compatriot knows the player well, and the playmaker’s objective is to secure a spot in Belgium’s team for Euro 2024, which suggests he may be open to a move.
