Keylor Navas is encouraged to join Club America, according to the latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive.
Club America coach Fernando Ortiz reportedly stated that the club would “consider” signing Keylor Navas after the Nottingham Forest goalkeeper expressed interest in joining the Mexican club.
The Costa Rican joined the Reds on loan from French champions PSG during the January transfer window and has been a regular in the Forest lineup. Navas has made ten appearances for Steve Cooper’s team this season, filling in for the injured Dean Henderson.
However, the 36-year-old has discussed his future beyond this season, with Forest allegedly having no option or duty to make Navas’ move to the City Ground permanent.
“Mexico has great teams in my opinion.” I want to play for [Club] América. That’s the truth,” he told Paramount+, according to Sport Witness.
And now, Club America coach Fernando Ortiz has spoken out on the possibility of Navas joining his team. According to the Mexican newspaper Record, he stated, “All the elite players want to play for Club América.”
“If Keylor Navas was available and in good condition, we would consider him for that position in the future.”
Navas is poised to return to Forest’s starting lineup when they face Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday. The Reds will be anxious to win after falling into the relegation zone on goal difference.
