According to a rumor, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Allan Saint-Maximin from Premier League rivals Newcastle United during the summer transfer window.
According to the Sunday Mirror (30/4; page 76), Tottenham are leading the battle to sign French winger Saint-Maximin.
Spurs reportedly made behind-the-scenes enquiries for the winger during the January transfer window and remain interested in him.
AC Milan are also interested in signing the 26-year-old, but Tottenham are the frontrunners in the hunt for a player characterized as “really dangerous” by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola in The Mirror in August 2022.
According to the report, Newcastle could seek up to £50 million in transfer fees for Saint-Maximin.
Tottenham Hotspur may be able to capture Allan Saint-Maximin from Newcastle United during the summer transfer window, in our opinion.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe isn’t using the 26-year-old on a regular basis, and if the Magpies win the UEFA Champions League next season, they may simply offload him in the summer of 2023 and use the transfer price to recruit a better player.
The Frenchman himself may be tempted to depart for greater playing time, particularly at a large club like Tottenham.
Saint-Maximin has made 11 Premier League starts and nine substitute appearances for Newcastle this season.
The 26-year-old has scored one goal and given five assists in those games.
