Tottenham Hotspur are likely to have a huge clear-out this summer, with as many as ten first-team players potentially leaving Hotspur Way, according to The Telegraph.
According to the article, Ange Postecoglou’s appointment would be followed by an attempted clear-out as the club seeks to reshape the squad for the Australian.
According to reports, Spurs’ dismal season has inspired a desire to undertake extensive surgery on the squad this summer.
The Telegraph reports that experienced duo Hugo Lloris and Ivan Perisic are poised to quit, as are Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon.
According to reports, Clement Lenglet may be allowed to return to Barcelona, while Spurs are also expected to consider bids for Eric Dier and Ben Davies.
Finally, it is claimed that the North London club will try to sell Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon, and Harry Winks when they return from loan periods.
There is no doubt that the team requires extensive surgery, but Postecoglou and the Spurs administration may recognize that it cannot be completed all at once.
So the 57-year-old would have to decide who to let go first, and I can see him keeping players like Davies and Sessegnon until January or next summer.
