On Saturday, Aston Villa will play League Two side Walsall at Poundland Bescot Stadium in their first pre-season match ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Unai Emery’s side returned to Bodymoor Heath for testing last weekend and have been put through their paces since in preparation for their first friendly match.
The game will be the Villans’ final in England before they return to Poundland Bescot Stadium on August 3 to take on Serie A heavyweights Lazio.
It’s impossible to predict who Emery will select for this weekend’s match, but it’s likely that a lot of young players will play rather than regular starters.

Villa is likely to start ahead of Emi Martinez because this is his easiest preseason game on paper.
Konsa may need to try a new role in the future due to the signing of Pau Torres and the long-awaited return of Diego Carlos. He’s previously played right-back.
