Ja’Corey Brooks has picked his transfer destination
The Alabama transfer wide receiver announced Friday he committed to Louisville while visiting the school. The junior receiver had a big sophomore season in 2022 for the Crimson Tide, totaling 39 catches for 674 yards and eight touchdowns, but injuries and a crowded receiver room limited his opportunities this season. Brooks had only three catches for 30 yards in the 2023 campaign, last playing against LSU on Nov. 4.
“He’s done a great job. He’s done a great job on special teams,” Nick Saban said Nov. 6 of Brooks. “He’s been a little hurt which has contributed to his role to some degree. But he’s been great. He’s done a great job on special teams. He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do. When he’s gone in the game he’s done a really good job of doing what he needs to do. He got his shoulder banged up which has been a little bit of an issue for him all year in the game so we’ll see how it goes this week as well.”
Brooks went into the transfer portal last week, a few days after he did not suit up for Alabama in its SEC Championship win over Georgia.
