Quarterback Jalen Milroe of Alabama Makes Significant Decision for
Jalen Milroe has declared that he will be returning to Alabama for his last college football season, thus there is no need for speculation or conspiracy in Tuscaloosa. Milroe responded to a question on his return on The Next Round podcast on Thursday by confirming as much.
“Yes, I will be returning for my final year,” Milroe stated throughout the episode.
Milroe has guided his team to the College Football Playoffs following a wild season that saw him being benched early on. The winner of the game between the Michigan Wolverines and the No. 4 Crimson Tide advances to the National Championship.
After the season took a turn for the better, Milroe quickly developed, showing weekly proficiency in a variety of game-related areas. Because of this, several people thought Milroe may declare for the NFL Draft in 2024.
This season, Milroe has passed for 2,718 yards, 23 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Along with his increased abilities on the ground, he recorded 12 touchdowns and 468 rushing yards.
Yet, there are a lot of quarterbacks in this draft who will go to the next level, so Milroe would have faced competition. He can now go back to Tuscaloosa and keep building more and more draft stock while showcasing his progress.
After finishing the season with the sixth-most votes for the Heisman Trophy, Milroe will have another chance to win it the following year.
He can lead the Crimson Tide to another postseason hopeful season if his next one starts the same way this one has concluded. Whatever happens in Alabama’s playoff game against Michigan, the knowledge that their star quarterback is back for another season must also be consoling to Alabama supporters.
