According to reports, Aston Villa are considering making an offer for Barcelona attacker Ferran Torres.
Last season, the Spaniard made 33 La Liga appearances for the Catalan giants, scoring four goals and giving two assists to help Barcelona win the Spanish top division for the first time since 2019. He joined them from Manchester City in 2022 and previously played for Valencia in Spain.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Unai Emery’s side are considering to make a loan bid with the option to sign him permanently. According to the report, the Villarreal are “requesting a loan from Barca with a purchase option of 25 million euros.”
They also claim that Barcelona is “not seduced by a loan” and that the player does not appear to want to leave since he does not “want a change of scenery.”
Barcelona, on the other hand, has to sell players this summer, which could boost Villa’s chances. Next season, the 23-year-old may struggle to secure starts.
It would not be the first time Barcelona and Villa have done business together. Philippe Coutinho joined Villa permanently from Barcelona last summer after a loan spell at Villa Park.
