Aston Villa pushing hard to sign £45m striker Arnaut Danjuma

Aston Villa’s probable deal for Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma “makes a lot of sense” for Unai Emery’s side at Villa Park, according to talkSPORT writer Alex Crook.

During the pair’s time at the wide man’s current club, the 25-year-old had previously played under the Villans’ Spanish head coach.

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Danjuma has arrived in the United Kingdom ahead of talks with various clubs, with a loan move to the Premier League possible this month.

Villa has already completed the signing of Real Betis left-back Lex Moreno, while a fee has been agreed upon between the club and Chicago Fire for forward Jhon Durán as part of their interest in Danjuma.

According to transfer insider Dean Jones, the winger is Emery’s top transfer target this month and could want to reunite with the Dutchman before the window closes on January 31st.

According to the Daily Mail, Villa faces competition from Everton for Danjuma’s signature, while Bournemouth is also interested in taking back their former winger on loan for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports writer Dharmesh Sheth recently told GiveMeSport that the West Midlands giants are interested in signing striker Nicolas Jackson from the same club, as Emery seeks to bolster his squad at Villa Park.

And Crook believes that, given Danjuma’s success in Spain, a move to Villa this month makes a lot of sense.

Danjuma, who has previously been described as “outstanding” by commentator Clinton Morrison, has had a good tenure at Villarreal since his £22 million move from Bournemouth in the summer of 2021.

According to Transfermarkt, the six-cap Netherlands international has scored 22 goals and supplied four assists in 51 games at the Estadio de la Cerámica, indicating that he may be a consistent contributor of goals for Emery’s side.
