Hull City have doubts surrounding the fitness of five attacking players ahead of Saturday’s crunch Yorkshire derby with struggling Huddersfield Town at the MKM Stadium.
City will be looking to bounce back from a 3-1 defeat at West Brom on Saturday but head coach Liam Rosenior faces an anxious wait to see if he’ll have the quintet available to take on the Terriers, knowing he is already without Regan Slater.
Star man Jaden Philogene missed the Hawthorns loss and it’s hoped he’ll be back and fit enough to be involved while Jason Lokilo missed the trip after picking up a groin injury in training on Friday and will have a scan on Monday and though Dogukan Sinik did make the journey to the Black Country, he reported a knee problem after getting out of bed on Saturday morning.
Striker Aaron Connolly was named on the bench but was unable to come on as a substitute after complaining of a sore toe during the game and Adama Traore limped out in the second half with what appeared to be a groin issue, moments before he was scheduled to be replaced – the pair, like Lokilo, are expected to be scanned early next week.
“We’ve lost four attacking players this week. Jaden has been fantastic and he’s out, Jason felt his groin and we don’t know how serious that one is, Dodo Sinik felt his knee this morning. Somehow his knee locked up and I wanted to change it and get Aaron Connolly on the pitch because I thought the space was there, but when he was warming up in the first half, his toe completely swelled up,” frustrated Rosenior told Hull Live.
