Hernandez has already stepped out of Munich and into Paris. An official agreement is currently nearing completion.
Lucas Hernandez has made it very apparent that he wants to leave Bayern Munich and join Paris Saint-Germain, and he has made his intentions known. The reigning Ligue 1 champions said goodbye to Sergio Ramos at the end of the season and have been pondering what to do with both Juan Bernat and Layvin Kurzawa before submitting a formal approach to Bayern for Hernandez.
According to Spanish journalist Too Garcia on the “El Larguero” radio show (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern and PSG have reached a verbal deal for Hernandez. He would now only need to get a medical in Paris for the agreement to be finalized. According to Garcia, the deal will be announced in the next days, at least by PSG.
Hernandez will leave Bayern after four seasons with the club after signing from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019. Most of his time as a Bayern player was spent recovering from an injury, but when he was signed, he was and still is the club’s record signing at 80 million euros. The agreement was reached in the winter of 2019, prior to the summer of 2019.
He leaves Bayern with four Bundesliga titles, one Champions League, one DFB-Pokal, two DFL-Supercups, one UEFA Supercup, and one FIFA Club World Cup to his name. In principle, there was nothing else he could win at Bayern, and he had just won the World Cup with France just previous to joining the club, but it was still the club’s aim to persuade him to sign a new contract. His contract was slated to expire next summer, so it was evident this summer that he needed to sign an extension or be moved if he didn’t want to be a free agency in a year.
