Bayern Munich Head to Head lineups against Manchester United in the UCL 23/24

UCL 23-24: Bayern vs Manchester United: Predicted lineup, injury news, head-to-head, telecast

Bayern and Manchester United have a history in the Champions League, a good memory for one and one to forget for the other. Manchester United beat Bayern in the 1991 Champions League final, United made the comeback and won the tie with the scoreline of 2-1.

Bayern are the favourites to win the match and the group overall. They are one of the most successful clubs in European history, having won the Champions League six times. On the other hand, Manchester United are a traditional powerhouse in European football, but they have fallen on hard times in recent years. They have not won the Champions League since 1999 and have not reached the final since 2011.

Harry Kane knows exactly what he’s up against, a team who were interested in bringing him to Old Trafford to fill up the place of a striker. He is the best finisher in this tie and will create plenty of chances for him and his teammates. He has scored five times in 18 games against United. The England striker has only played in four matches for the Bavarians and has already scored four goals this season.

The Portuguese international and now the captain of the club has a lot on his shoulders already this season. Manchester United have struggled recently, in all the struggling situations, Fernandes is the only player who has created enough chances for the club and by far is the only creative midfielder in this United squad. Since the club has a lot of players sidelined due to injuries, he will have to play the role of not just a central midfielder but also the role of a right-wing.

Bayern faced an injury scare before the match against Red Devils, during their 2-2 score line against Bayer Leverkusen, Joshua Kimmich was forced to leave the field after an hour. He remains to be in doubt, we’ll find out of he’s fit enough to play or not. Apart from this, Thomas Tuchel will not be seen on the sideline due to the sideline ban.

Manchester United have not played the desired playing 11 this season due to the injuries, in their 3-1 loss to Brighton another injury has struck the Premier League side. Their main right-back Aaron wan Bissaka was brought in the later parts of the second half and after the match it was confirmed that he sustained an injury which will keep him out for several weeks.

Although United have faced three defeats so early this season and if they continue to keep the intensity for the entire match, this will be a very interesting and close match. Bayern have not lost to United at home which is a scary sign for Erik ten Hag but he will look to turn his season around in this match and get back to winning ways. Bayern can keep their winning streak going at home, they have the ability to keep things tight and tear United’s defense apart.
