The pot of coffee is brewing early this Friday morning. Let’s go. The big German definitely has that ambitious outlook about getting to Lincoln.
Husker commit David Höffken, who has been a story of the week around here, already has the wheels turning to join the program as soon as possible.
I’ll have a full feature on the lineman on Sunday, beyond what we’ve already had, but I know some people are interested in the logistics of him getting here to be part of the 2024 roster. Don’t be startled by social media photos of him working out at an Oklahoma camp, where he apparently did quite well again on Thursday. He’s traveling with his Gridiron Imports group through the camp circuit.
He’s also already started the process to get to Nebraska.
“We are working on it that I enroll in July,” he told me Thursday. “I got a call from the admissions center yesterday … and we were figuring everything out. They sent me a to-do of some paperwork to do. We’re definitely on it. We think we can make it possible to July – maybe the end of July.”
He said he woke up Wednesday morning still in awe he was now committed to Nebraska.
“I’m so hyped up,” he said. “I can’t wait to get on campus. And the fans are incredible. They texted me messages on Twitter and IG, like, ‘Can’t wait to get you here.'”
