Boston Celtics currently Holding deep Trade Talks With Playoff Rival Atlanta Hawks

During the 2023 NBA Draft, there could be a lot of player movement. Teams may try to trade either a player or a draft pick. Despite not having a first-round pick of their own, the Boston Celtics appear to be interested in joining the frenzy on draft night.

Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer revealed in his June 20 mock draft that the Celtics are now considering a trade with one of their previous playoff opponents, the Atlanta Hawks.

“League sources have connected the Hawks to a whole bunch of teams in trade talks—the Celtics, Mavericks, and Raptors,” O’Connor reported.

O’Connor then went on to say who might be on the move on Atlanta’s side, some of whom might be of interest to the Celtics.

“Because the Hawks front office is willing to trade anyone but Trae, Dejounte Murray could be a valuable bargaining chip.” And maybe we’ll witness a John Collins move.”

Collins and Murray are good players who can help the Celtics go over the hump, but it all depends on who the Celtics are willing to give up in exchange for them. Last summer, the Hawks used Danilo Gallinari to acquire Murray from the San Antonio Spurs.
