English Premier League side Brentford have decided to sign Flying Eagles center-back Benjamin Fredrick on a permanent deal.
As revealed on transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano’s X account, the Bees have decided to activate the option to sign the Nigerian defender permanently after initially agreeing a loan deal with him.
The 18-year-old joined Brentford last summer on a loan deal from Simoiben FC, an academy owned by Super Eagles forward Moses Simon.
Before joining the Premier League side, he was courted by a good number of European sides including Manchester City and Bayern Munich particularly after an impressive outing in the last edition of the FIFA U20 World Cup.
He shone like a million stars alongside Abel Ogwuche in the heart of the defence before Nigeria got knocked out by South Korea in the quarterfinal.
Fredrick has been one one of the regular players in Brentford B starting XI this season and it was no surprise when he was invited to train with the first team.
He would eventually make the matchday squad when the West London side lost back-to-back Premier League games to Tottenham and Manchester City.
The talented center back was in the matchday squad during the FA Cup tie with Wolves, as well as the replay fixture against the Wanderers.
Having committed his future to the club, he will be hoping to break into the first team as soon as possible.
