BREAKING NEWS: Brentford set new shocking asking price for Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester United to sign Ivan Toney

Brentford have reportedly reduced their asking price for Ivan Toney, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all in the hunt for the striker as he enters the final 12 months of his contract.

Despite a lacklustre goalscoring return at the end of last season following his return from an eight-month gambling ban, Toney remains high in demand after scoring 32 goals in his first two seasons in the Premier League.

And following Benjamin Sesko’s decision to extend his contract at RB Leipzig and turn down a move to the Premier League, interest in the Brentford striker is only expected to mount.

Thomas Frank’s side previously valued the striker at £80m but are now set to lower their asking price for the 28-year-old to ensure they cash in this summer.

The new fee, however, still represents a significant outlay, with talkSPORT reporting that £60m will be required to convince Brentford to sell.

Toney will have a further chance to put himself in the shop window after being selected in England manager Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad for Euro 2024.

And although insisting his focus remains with Brentford and the upcoming Euros, Toney has said he would be ‘ready’ if a bigger club came in for him over the summer.

‘I have a year left. Going into a major tournament, that is my main focus now. But after this, I’ll be going back to Brentford and I will be a Brentford player still,’ he told talkSPORT.

‘It’s nice to be linked with other clubs. But I’ve had this in the past. Nothing is done until it’s done.

‘Obviously, if it was to come, I would be ready. But I’ve got to remain focused and not let other things and other noise get the best of me and just focus on what I need to do for my club.’

United are said to have Toney on a three-man shortlist – along with Jonathan David and Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee – as they look to recruit a new striker this summer.

As well as looking at Toney, Arsenal also have long-standing interest in Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, while Chelsea are said to have agreed a £42 million deal to sign Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran.
