Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made it clear that Manchester United will not be selling one member of the first-team squad, with the businessman feeling that the side can be built around him.
There is going to be plenty of excitement around Old Trafford heading into the summer. Of course, it is the first transfer window with INEOS having a clear influence on what goes on behind the scenes.
There has been speculation over the future of Erik ten Hag as United manager. But it would also be little surprise to see a number of changes to the playing squad, with only a few members of the side emerging from this campaign with much credit.
Players like Marcus Rashford have been a real disappointment. Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo has been a revelation since properly bursting onto the scene in November.

And there have been a number of games where he has surely been United’s most exciting player – including the recent win over Everton where he won both penalties. He also set up Amad Diallo for the winner in that FA Cup tie with Liverpool before the international break.
Many have been hugely impressed by Garnacho. And his list of admirers includes Sir Jim Ratcliffe, according to a report from talkSPORT.
The report notes that Real Madrid are interested in the 19-year-old. However, Ratcliffe has made it clear that there is no chance that Garnacho will be sold.
Garnacho has impressed around the Manchester United training ground. And Ratcliffe wants the United side to be built around him moving forward.
Brighter times may lie ahead
Of course, it would be a big surprise if the club had any willingness to field any offers for the attacking midfielder.
Admittedly, United may not be expecting huge bids for many of their players. But it would send out a worrying statement if they sold one of their brightest youngsters.
He has been extremely impressive this season. And it seems that Ratcliffe wants to give him the platform at Old Trafford to realise his full potential.
