We are delighted to announce that Dan McKimm has been appointed as the new Head Coach for the London Bees.
With his ambition to succeed and build something with the London Bees, McKimm was seen as a great option to help take the Club into the 2024-25 campaign and beyond. Coupled with his fantastic knowledge of players and his credentials as an exciting young coach, it is hoped that he will be the right candidate to bring the Club success going forward. With 8 years’ experience coaching within elite football environments within the Women’s game, Dan has spent the last two-and-a-half of those as 1st team manager of London Seaward Football Club. With previous coaching and managerial stints at Leyton Orient Women’s Football Club and Coventry United Ladies Football Club, Dan has worked with professional and international players and has a proven track record in building successful teams.
Speaking on his arrival in North London, McKimm said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to work with such a prestigious club.
This is a club with a big history that, just four seasons ago let’s not forget, was a Championship outfit. It’s been a tough couple of years, and no-one’s hiding from that, but there’s huge potential here and I think we have the opportunity to start to wake the sleeping giant.
I’m super excited for the challenge and I’m feeling extremely positive following the conversations I’ve had with Natasha and the Club about the new direction of travel, and the plan to get the London Bees climbing back up the pyramid again.”
London Bees Chief Executive, Natasha Kleanthous, said:
“I am very pleased to welcome Dan to the London Bees. I have been impressed by his enthusiasm and drive, and believe he will be a great support in the rebuild of the Club.
We’ve got a busy few months in front of us but I’m confident that the changes being introduced will help get us back on track and am pleased that Dan has decided to join us on the journey ahead.”
Everyone at the Club would like to welcome Dan to The Hive London and we wish him every success going forwards. Bees fans can stay tuned in the coming weeks for interviews with Dan and his backroom team, as well as news of new recruits as a busy summer swings into action as we prepare for the new season.
London Bees would like to place on record a special thanks to all the staff at Watford Ladies who stepped in last season and put in a huge amount of work and effort with the team.
