Celtics release Jaylen Brown A Supermax Deal after receiving several offers from top teams

The Boston Celtics have yet to offer Jaylen Brown a supermax deal extension to retain him with the franchise.

Some fans are concerned that they are considering getting rid of the two-time All-Star.

However, NBA expert Jeff Goodman argues that there is nothing to worry about and that everything is going as planned.

“It’s just a matter of time,” Goodman said of the NBC Sports Boston contract negotiations.

“I talked to someone in the organization, and they said there’s really nothing to worry about right now,” he added.

Throughout the season, it was assumed that Brown would be retained by the Celtics in the offseason.

During 2022-23, he was one of the most significant members of the squad, averaging 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.

Of course, there was always the possibility that Boston would trade Brown for someone greater in the league.

The speculation intensified when it was revealed that Damian Lillard wanted to leave the Portland Trail Blazers.

Many observers feared – and some hoped – that Boston and Brown’s discussions to trade him for Lillard would fail.

But, according to individuals in the know, things are still moving along nicely and a deal will be reached and revealed soon.

There were speculations last summer that the Celtics were considering trading Brown for Kevin Durant, who was then with the Brooklyn Nets.

Brown hasn’t felt as untouchable since then.

However, he is reportedly on the approach of a massive new contract with the Celtics that will keep him there for several years.
