Newcastle are expected to bolster their ranks ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign
Having only seen the curtains drawn on the 32nd instalment of the Premier League, attention is already quickly turning to the summer transfer window.
Clubs will officially be able to kickstart their business on Friday 14th June, the same date that Euro 2024 gets underway in Germany. Newcastle United are expected to be busy as Eddie Howe looks to bolster his ranks in their quest to secure a return to the European stage.
The Magpies are also expecting a number of outgoings, with the club confirming five departures following the announcement of their retained list. It has also been reported that a number of Newcastle’s star performers from this season are on the shopping lists of clubs across the world.
But such is the nature of football, you cannot go far without getting a prediction or analysis over what could happen, not only on the pitch, but in the transfer market as well. And AI has had its say too.
BettingSites used an AI tool to predict which transfers would happen this summer in the Premier League and away from England’s top flight and it produced some interesting deals involving some of football’s most highly sought after talents.
From the Premier League, AI predicted that Tottenham Hotspur would lose Son Heung-min to Atletico Madrid for a fee of €68million (£57.8million). According to AI’s forecast, Chelsea would would welcome Achraf Hakimi for £60million from Paris Saint-Germain, while Manchester United would complete the audacious transfer of Kylian Mbappe, despite having all-but signed for Real Madrid.
When looking at Newcastle’s potential summer business, AI predicted one furture departure from St. James’ Park. It’s calculations predicted that Miguel Almiron would swap Tyneside for Naples in a deal worth €50million (£42.5million), ending his five-year stay with the Magpies to join the Serie A side.
For potential arrivals in the North East, AI has said that the club would complete a sensational deal for the return of Ivan Toney. The Brentford striker left St. James’ Park in 2018 to join Peterborough United, with the deal worth around £85million according to AI.
There would be one further transfer that the club would complete, with Aaron Ramsdale arriving to bolster their goalkeeping options for a fee of £25million. The 26-year-old has previously been linked with a move to Newcastle after Mikel Arteta’s decision to deploy David Raya as the Gunners’ number one this term.
Lee Astley, head of news at BettingSites said: “If AI had got it right and some of these predicted transfers actually happen, we are in for an absolutely mental summer transfer window.
“A transfer window that sees the likes of Kylian Mbappe snub Real Madrid in favour of a move to Old Trafford and Ivan Toney move to Newcastle is sure to be a big one. Not to mention the likes of Mohamed Salah, Bernardo Silva, Miguel Almirón, Son Heung-Min and Emile Smith Rowe all leaving the Premier League in favour of moves across Europe.”
