Out of contract Rangers starlet demands talk with hierarchy to plan for his future next season.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has spent the 2023/24 season on loan in the SPFL Championship with Airdrieonians, but is set to see his deal at Ibrox expire in just a few weeks.

And the academy graduate has admitted that “conversations need to be had” about what next season holds for him, as shared by Glasgow World (13 May).

“Conversations need to be had, and my contract is up in the summer,” he said.

“A lot of the finer details aren’t down to me – I just want to be playing football.”

Rangers have big decisions to make with contracts this summer

Lyall is one of a number of players out of contract at the Light Blues this summer, but there are six first-teamers ahead of him whose futures will surely be more of a priority.

John Lundstram and Borna Barisic look set to be moving to Trabzonspor next season despite Philippe Clement’s wishes to keep them.

Kemar Roofe, Ryan Jack, Jon McLaughlin look set to leave after barely featuring for the team this season while Leon Balogun is someone the manager would seemingly like to keep at the club.

The club also must make a decision on the futures of loanees Abdallah Sima, Fabio Silva and Oscar Cortes, while other players like Ianis Hagi are due to return from spells elsewhere.

That means Lyall is not only very far down the pecking order at the club, but also when it comes to talks about his future and an exit is probably the most likely outcome in this scenario.
