Dallas Cowboys See’s Offensive Lineman In 2024 NFL Mock Draft

The Dallas Cowboys own the 24th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and one of the biggest needs this offseason is left tackle. Tyron Smith signed with the New York Jets in the offseason and has been the Cowboys starting left tackle for over a decade.

It is a new time for Dallas as they also have other needs with wide receiver, defensive line, and running back. Finding a blindside tackle for quarterback Dak Prescott will be really important for the 2024 season. Whoever they draft, that player will need to grow up in a hurry at the NFL level.

There will be plenty of quality starting-caliber left tackles and other quality offensive linemen in the 2024 NFL Draft. In the latest 2024 NFL Mock Draft by Nick Baumgardner from The Athletic, he has the Dallas Cowboys selecting Tyler Guyton from Oklahoma, who is an offensive tackle.

The reasoning he gave as to why the Dallas Cowboys would make this selection is because

“Guyton’s not far behind Mims on the “athletic freak” scale. He carries some similar consistency concerns, as well, but Guyton has the profile of a giant tight end — a good tight end, not a slow one.”

He is 6’8″ and weighs 322 lbs. Guyton started for a couple of years with the Oklahoma Sooners at right tackle.

The Dallas Cowboys Drafting a Starting Right Tackle Is a Good Idea But They Do Need a Left Tackle

The Dallas Cowboys need help at tackle and there is nothing wrong with getting a player who has started at right tackle for a couple of years in college. This shows that he is polished at the position. It would be hard for the Cowboys at the moment to make Tyler Guyton move from right tackle to left tackle.

If they were to go with a proven left tackle with this selection, one of the players they could go with is Jordan Morgan from Arizona. He was a starting left tackle for the Arizona Wildcats for the past couple of seasons. The Dallas Cowboys could go in a bunch of ways with this selection.

According to nfldraftbuzz.com, some of the scouting reports for Tyler Guyton are as follows:

“As a sophomore in 2021 he played in 7 games and a total of 25 snaps. He conceded just one QB hurry, no QB hits, and no sacks while playing the majority of his snaps at left tackle, and the rest at left guard. After the end of the season Guyton transferred to Oklahoma where as a junior Guyton saw action in 8 games and totaled 311 snaps
