Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone wasn’t in the mood to answer questions after his team had a complete meltdown to lose Game 7 in the Western Conference semifinals.
Just days prior, the Nuggets held a 3-2 series lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves after losing the first two games of the series. Then, the team lost by 45 in Game 6 and gave up a 20-point lead in Game 7 to end its season.
When asked how the loss felt when considering the Nuggets were in complete control early in the third quarter, Malone had no interest in entertaining the question.
“Next question, man,” Malone said in response to a question about the team blowing the lead. “The season’s over. That’s what’s hard. Fuck being up 20. The season’s over. You don’t understand that. The season’s over. It’s hard. Stupid ass questions.
You can hear the Timberwolves loudly celebrating their victory as a grumpy Michael Malone does his news conference 😭 #wolvesback pic.twitter.com/3IynF0J6nQ
