INDIANAPOLIS — When Deshaun Watson faces the Colts on Sunday — and he will, barring a setback — the Browns won’t place any restrictions on him despite the strained right rotator cuff.
Watson, who’s missed the past two games, averaged five runs through his first three games, and will likely carry the ball at least that much against the Colts and their 18th-ranked run defense. The feeling is that if Watson is healthy enough to play — and that appears to be the case — he’s ready to run his improvisational, dual-threat game without the clamps on.
Nick Chubb is already back to his old ways, although the Cleveland Browns running back still has a long way to go.
Chubb suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers which required both his ACL and MCL to be repaired. He’s already had surgery for the latter and is waiting to have surgery on his ACL in the coming weeks.
That hasn’t stopped Chubb from getting back in the weight room, which is an encouraging sign.
