DONE DEAL: Cleveland Browns sign new Defensive Lineman To Practice Squad

As the depth is being challenged for the Cleveland Browns on the defensive interior, they signed Chris Williams to the practice squad.

The Cleveland Browns injury situation continues to guide their roster transactions. As they work to handle injury issues with defensive tackle, they signed Chris Williams to their practice squad in order to bolster overall depth.

Williams is in his third NFL season out of Wagner. Originally he was signed by Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent in 2020, he has appeared in 13 career games with the Colts across three seasons in the organization and has spent most of the 2023 season on the Chiefs’ practice squad.

He joins the Browns practice squad after Tommy Togiai signed with the Atlanta Falcons active roster.

Across two seasons on the Colts’ active roster in 2021 and 2022, Williams played 107 total snaps while accumulating three pressures, three tackles, and four assisted tackles. Williams played 222 preseason snaps for the Cheifs this season where he went for eight pressures, nine tackles, and five stop tackles.

Williams tested decently out of college with good speed and explosion grades to go with long arms.
