How to Watch the Detroit Tigers vs. New York Mets – MLB (4/4/24) | Channel, Stream, Preview
QUEENS, NY — After some lovely weather over the last couple of days, the Detroit Tigers and New York Mets are finally ready to play the final two games of their three-game set with a doubleheader on Thursday.
This was supposed to be a day off for the Tigers, as the series against the Mets was supposed to end on Wednesday. However, tons of rain across the region, forced two games to be postponed.
Detroit waited until the 10th inning on Monday night to cause some damage against the Mets, scoring five runs, including a two-run home run off the bat of Carson Kelly, to give the team a 5-0 win. The Tigers ended up with just four hits in the game, but thanks to good pitching from Reese Olson and the bullpen, they could play into extra innings.
Detroit is one of only three teams to have begun the 2024 season by winning its first four games. The Bengals have not started a season 4-0 since they won the first six games of the 2015 season.
On the other side, the Mets are having one of their worst starts in almost two decades. New York was swept by the Milwaukee Brewers this past weekend, and with the loss on Monday, the team is 0-4 for the first time since 2005.
The doubleheader will make things tough on the Tigers, as their home opener is set for Friday afternoon.
