Everton in high chase for €35m-rated Serie A star Player this summer

Everton and West Ham United are both interested in signing Juventus centre-back Merih Demiral this summer, according to reports.

The Italian outfit are keen to offload players to free up extra transfer funding, with Juve Live reporting they would sell the Turkish defender for €35million (£30million). Having struggled for game time in Turin, a move to England would be beneficial for the 23-year-old’s development.

Given Fabio Balbuena’s recent departure from East London, David Moyes will be keen to recruit additional cover in the centre-back position at West Ham.

Having recently secured Europa League football, Demiral would provide invaluable strength in depth to the Scottish manager throughout a congested fixture list.

Alternatively, the Turkey international could also be a pivotal addition to Everton’s back line.

Despite being without a manager, the Merseyside outfit actively seek competition for Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate.

Since joining Juventus from Sassuolo, Demiral has featured just 21 times for the club since 2019.

In addition to this, a disappointing Euro 2020 campaign with Turkey saw his side exit the group stages without a single point, having scored one goal.

Following a difficult season for both club and country, the defender will be determined to change his fortunes around.

A new challenge in the Premier League would provide him with a perfect opportunity to rejuvenate his career.
