West Ham United and Brentford have expressed interest in Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The Toffees are likely to be forced into a decision over the 27-year-old centre-forward imminently, with his contract due to expire in 2025. They face the prospect of losing him for nothing, which given their financial problems is a major concern.
Indeed, there are reports that Everton will have to move players on by the end of the month to satisfy the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), yet they have held firm over Manchester United’s Jarrad Branthwaite approach.
Sources indicate that there is a relatively small gap to bridge, so a deal for Calvert-Lewin, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €12.4 million (£10.5m) after a 2023/24 campaign in which he only scored eight times, could do the trick.
Calvert-Lewin in demand
The 27-year-old has caught the attention of West Ham and Brentford for different reasons.
West Ham United are in dire need of a reliable striker to lead their attack. With Michail Antonio’s form being inconsistent and the probability of the player leaving, the Hammers are looking for a dependable goal scorer.
Calvert-Lewin, known for his aerial prowess and clinical finishing, fits the bill perfectly.
According to our sources Julen Lopetegui sees him as the ideal candidate to spearhead West Ham’s forward line next season.
Brentford, on the other hand, are preparing for the departure of their star striker, Ivan Toney.
With speculation rife about the England striker’s future, the Bees are proactively seeking replacements. Calvert-Lewin’s experience in the Premier League and his goal-scoring abilities make him a prime target for Brentford.
Everton must carefully consider any offers that come in to avoid losing him without any financial return. With his value to the team and his potential market worth, Everton will be looking for a substantial offer if they are to part ways with their striker.
