Fabrizio Romano: AC Milan ready to snatch Real Madrid €6million star players as agent Jorge Mendes set for final discussion
According to a report on MARCA, Real Madrid has sent Marco Asensio an offer to extend his contract with the club, but with a pay cut. According to the same report, Madrid offered him a contract worth around €4 million per year, but the player expected to earn around €6 million per year after the extension.
Real Madrid’s demand for Asensio is still ‘considered excessive’ by the Rossoneri management, which is why there is no further progress between the parties involved at the moment, but there appears to be no rush.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, will ‘try to find a solution this summer,’ but they are aware that he could leave as a free agent in the summer of 2023, so there is no rush to resolve his future early in the summer mercato.
Real Madrid has stated that they are ‘open to negotiations for Asensio,’ but only on their terms.
Romano stated in an editorial for CaughtOffside that Marco Asensio’s situation is “still open” and that Milan has had his name on their wish list “for months” alongside Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech and Club Brugge’s Charles De Ketelaere.
