We have entered the portion of the season where we start to look at mock drafts. It’s sad to be there before the month of December, but a 5-7 start to the season will do that. The Tennessee Titans aren’t officially eliminated yet, but it would take a small miracle, and a much better roster, for them to make the playoffs.
Today Chris Trapasso of CBS put out a mock draft where he has the Titans taking Malik Nabers, WR, LSU with the 6th pick (where the Titans would currently be picking). The great debate between offensive tackle and WR has already started on Twitter. Some people have been repurposing the famous picture that was used for the Cincinnati Bengals a few years back:
The funny thing is, the Bengals took Ja’Marr Chase and made it to a Super Bowl not long after.
Nabers had a monster 2023 at LSU. He finished the regular season with 86 catches for 1,546 yards and 14 touchdowns.
It is interesting here that Trapasso has the Titans taking a WR with all of the offensive tackles still on the board. The other interesting thing in this mock is that he has the Chicago Bears sticking at pick #1, which they have courtesy of their trade with the Carolina Panthers, and taking Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA. I find it really hard to believe that the first player taken in this draft, whether it is by the Bears or someone else, won’t be a quarterback.
