At this point, the Warriors have no intention of moving superstar guard Steph Curry, nor do they seem to want to move on from veteran forward Draymond Green, but the same can’t be said for sharpshooting guard Klay Thompson.
There’s been a rumor floating around that the Warriors are finally open to trading Thompson, who is having one of the worst seasons of his NBA career.
With Thompson’s time with the Warriors potentially coming to an end next week or potentially next summer, Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports believes “he’ll get a statue” at the Chase Center one day. via “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.”
With Thompson making such an impact while playing alongside Curry and forming one of the greatest shooting backcourts of all time, it will come as no surprise that the Warriors franchise will honor him with a statue when the time comes.
Thompson deserves to be immortalized in bronze outside their arena in San Francisco, which will likely be next to statues of Curry and Green.
The Warriors dynasty literally helped change the game, and that wouldn’t have happened without Thompson being one of the best shooters this league has ever seen.
