The Green Bay Packers have doubled down at the wide receiver position in the last two drafts. Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs were both taken in the 2022 NFL Draft. Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks were both taken in the 2023 NFL Draft.
When healthy, all four wide receivers have proven to be able to contribute to the Packers offense in a significant way. With the wide receiver market exploding this year, the Packers don’t have to worry about paying one of their weapons surrounding Jordan Love a boat load of money just to keep them in town.
In fact, outside of running back, the Packers are set for multiple years at all key skill positions surrounding Jordan Love.
Right now the highest paid wide receiver is Tyreek Hill at $30 million dollars per year. We’re going to see extensions coming in for Justin Jefferson of Minnesota, Ja’Mar Chase of Cincinnati, Ceedee Lamb in Dallas, Amon Ra St. Brown in Detroit. Then of course you have the free agent guys or tag guys in Tee Higgins and Michael Pittman.
This off-season, be prepared for an explosion at the wide receiver market. We could see the market go from a true $30 million dollars per year contract, even though Tyreek Hill is really around $25 million per year, to as high as 35 to 36 million per year.
This off-season is truly going to be the off-season of wide receivers. The market is really going to explode.
However, news surfacing regarding wide receivers going is nothing but good news for the Packers.
The Green Bay Packers have a lot to be excited about going into the 2024 season. Specifically, the offense in Green Bay put on a show as the season came to an end. The young weapons surrounding Jordan Love continued to improve as the season went along. Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Luke Musgrave, Tucker Kraft, and Aaron Jones proved to be more than enough weapons.
