New York Yankees’ Legend Jorge Posada Dishes on Career, Baseball, and Acting in a Miller Lite Commercial
New York Yankees legend Jorge Posada is an actor now. The former catcher, who was right at the heart of the Yankees dynasty, was seen acting in a new Miller Lite commercial ahead of March Madness. He joined Fastball on FanNation to discuss that, his career, and more.
Apparently New York Yankees’ legend Jorge Posada is an actor now?
OK, maybe it’s not his second career (yet), but the former Yankees’ backstop was spotted Thursday in a commercial for beer brand Miller Lite.
Remember the old John Madden Miller Lite commercials of the 80s and the iconic “Great taste, less filling,” debate? Well, Posada is part of a re-birth of those commercials with other retired sports stars like David Ortiz, Mia Hamm, JJ Watt and Reggie Miller. Luke Wilson is also a part of them as well.
Posada spoke with our own Brady Farkas exclusively about the decision to join the movement, as well as his career, the modern game and much more including what it was like talking to pitchers on the mound.
ROAD MORE
The interview says that Posada won four World Series titles in New York. He technically did receive a fifth ring, but he wasn’t on the 1996 playoff roster.
A 17-year veteran, Posada was a lifetime .273 hitter with 275 homers and 1065 RBI. He was a five-time All-Star, a five-time Silver Slugger and has a monument in the Yankees’ famed Monument Park. He teamed with Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera and Andy Pettitte to make up the team’s storied “Core Four.”
We know Posada said that he wasn’t going to be an actor full-time, but you have to admit…. he looked pretty natural in there!
There are multiple other versions of the commercial not including Posada that will be aired throughout March Madness as well.
