Edwards included Virginia Tech, Clemson, Louisville and Tennessee alongside the Sooners on his list. A 6-foot-1, 180-pound cornerback from Trinity Episcopal School, Edwards is rated one of the top 30 players at his position in the 2025 cycle. The Richmond, VA, product would be the first defensive back to join OU’s 2025 recruiting class. In August, Edwards included OU in his top 12 along with Tennessee, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Virginia, Louisville, West Virginia, Boston College, Penn State, Miami and Maryland before cutting his list to five on Wednesday. Edwards had an impressive junior season in 2023, recording 33 tackles, three interceptions, one pick six, 14 pass breakups and one forced fumble in addition to five touchdowns on offense. If the Sooners are able to land a commitment from Edwards, it would be a huge addition to OU’s upcoming recruiting class, which currently boasts Alexander Shieldnight, Ka’Mori Moore and Marcus James on defense.
