But much of his goodwill was dashed by a humiliating and embarrassing 123-85 loss to the Bucks. To be honest, the game wasn’t as close as the lopsided scoreline would suggest. The Hornets scored just 16 points in the entire first quarter, doubling their lead to 32-16. The Hornets only scored 10 points in the second quarter, so if you thought things couldn’t get any worse, you were wrong.

The total after halftime is the lowest in the league.

The team’s 26 points in the first half was the team’s lowest total this season. half. The 26 points are also tied for the fewest points the Bucks have scored in a quarter. For some reason, things got worse from there, with the Hornets losing by 15 points in the third quarter and at one point trailing by 49 points.

Miles Bridges had 17 points and Brandon Miller had 14 points, but both shot a combined 12-for-29 from the field and 4-for-16 from 3-point range.

Davis Bertans returned from a two-game absence and posted a 4-8 record in three games off the bench. He has yet to take a two-point shot since joining the team che teams will play again Thursday night, but the Bucks should get plenty of rest, even if they don’t need it.

The loss dropped the Hornets’ season record to 15-43, but they are now 5-2 after bringing in new players after the trade deadline. They finished this four-game road trip after the All-Star break with a 2-2 record, and while they’re still solid overall, it’s hard to maintain enthusiasm after this recent dismal performance.
