Ipswich Town have received several loan offers from the Championship for striker Ali Al-Hamadi, as per The Athletic.
Ipswich Town are in the Premier League and got their top flight campaign underway last weekend.
Kieran McKenna’s side fell short against Liverpool, and despite looking strong against them for large parts of the game, it was the Reds who came away with a 2-0 win.
The Tractorboys have been on an amazing journey under McKenna and back-to-back promotions saw them rise from League One to the top tier as quick as can be done.
They’ve had a busy summer window in preparation for the demands of the top flight, but it doesn’t look as though their business is yet done.
Al-Hamadi has been linked with a loan move back to the Championship.
The Athletic report multiple Championship clubs have lodged loan bids for the striker, but the report states they will only let him leave if it is a move they think would benefit his development more than they can do themselves.
A natural finisher
The former AFC Wimbledon striker joined Ipswich Town amid interest from a lot of other clubs within the Championship and League One.
In the first half of last season in the fourth tier he managed 13 goals and six assists in 23 games for AFC Wimbledon.
He made the move to Ipswich Town and contributed to five Championship goals in 14 outings.
During the 2022/23 season he got ten goals in 19 League Two games and has made the move from fourth tier to Premier League in a very quick fashion.
Therefore it is no real surprise Ipswich Town will consider loaning him out. The 22-year-old has plenty of time on his side and he is yet to really have a consistent run of games in the second tier, never mind Premier League.
Looking ahead
McKenna will know how important minutes are for Al-Hamadi and his progress.
It will be interesting to see if any of the interested second tier clubs are namedropped over the next week or so, but with time running out in the summer window, there will need to be progress made soon if a deal is to be finalised.
Ipswich Town have a lot of talent in this area of the pitch and that could ultimately lead to the Iraq international to struggle to break into their team
McKenna must do what’s right by the club though and he will be hoping to avoid relegation this season against all odds.
They will look to pick up their first points of the Premier League season this weekend, but it’s not getting any easier as they face Manchester City away from home.
