Last week, Jason Kidd made some comments that stirred the pot with NBA fans.
He claimed that Jaylen Brown was the Boston Celtics’ best player, praising him for getting the job done on both ends of the floor and gushing about his performances throughout the course of the playoffs
Some thought Kidd was just playing mind games and trying to bait Tatum into taking forced shots, especially considering all the talk about Tatum not being clutch or good in big moments.
That’s why the former NBA star had to clear the air, stating that his comments about Brown were never ill-intended; he legitimately felt that way (via SiriusXM NBA Radio).
“Everybody thought my comments [on Jaylen Brown being their best player] was mental warfare”

Kidd promised that he wasn’t trying to engage in mental warfare with Tatum or the Celtics, laughing at the fact that he had created such a narrative.
Truth be told, he could be 100% honest, as it’s not like Jaylen Brown is a bad player by any means, even if Tatum will always be considered the Celtics’ go-to guy.
Still, we know that Kidd is a savvy and witty person who won’t hesitate to think outside of the box.
At the end of the day, we’ll never know his true intentions with those comments
