Bad news continues to pour in from the Michigan basketball program. Longtime strength and conditioning coach John Sanderson, known as one of the best coaches in the sport, resigned from his position and officially resigned from the program Friday after agreeing to a settlement with the University of Michigan.

Bacon wrote in X that it is “likely” that Howard will return as the University of Michigan’s basketball coach next season.

The news was reported by The Athletic, which also detailed an incident between University of Michigan basketball head coach Juwan Howard and Sanderson earlier this season. Sanderson told Jace Howard about the altercation with his coach. Juwan then went after Sanderson. Sanderson wrote in an email to Ward Manuel obtained by The Athletic that the players should have “contained” Howard and continued to fight Sanderson.

Ronald Bellamy, who spent the past two seasons as the Michigan Wolverines’ wide receivers coach, has agreed to a two-year contract extension with Michigan Football, it was reported Friday. In addition to the pay increase, Bellamy will serve as offensive passing game coordinator.
