The Boston Celtics have without question been the best team in the NBA this season, boasting a 54-14 record and 79.4 percent winning clip, which is their best since winning the championship in 2007-08.
The Cs have all the ingredients to win a title this season, but their lineups will be key for any title run. With that being said, let’s take a look at four Celtics players who could find it difficult to garner playing time in the postseason.
4. Payton Pritchard
Payton Pritchard has seen an increased role this season, becoming the first player off the bench for the Cs more often than not. Pritchard is averaging 21 minutes a night and is great in the pick-and-roll.
3. Xavier Tillman Sr.
The Celtics’ midseason acquisition of Xavier Tillman Sr. was a fantastic move, as it gifted them one of the best big men on the trade block for the nominal cost of two second-round picks in 2027 and 2030. Tillman is a good defender, in part because of his versatility and switchability.
2. Sam Hauser
Sam Hauser has been a bit of a microwave, showing the propensity to absolutely go on a heater in a short period of time. Just ask the Washington Wizards, who saw him drop 30 points in 23 minutes, while setting a franchise record for most 3-pointers made in a half (7).
1. Luke Kornet
When the Boston Celtics traded for Xavier Tillman, it was viewed by many as a sign of the Celts’ lack of confidence in Luke Kornet. However, Kornet used it as fuel to rise to the occasion.
