Alabama and Michigan squaring off in the Rose Bowl will be a legendary sight for the college football world, but a cloud of controversy will follow the Wolverines however far it goes in the College Football Playoff.
Earlier this year, former Michigan staffer Connor Stallions was involved in a sign-stealing scandal that led to a three-game suspension for head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Stallions’ operation involved him purchasing tickets to several of Michigan’s scheduled or potential opponents where he would record the team’s signals on the sidelines which is prohibited at the collegiate level.
Stallions’ attended games ranged from trips to ULM to the 2021 SEC Championship between Alabama and Georgia.
With a game of such importance approaching in January, Nick Saban was asked whether he would opt to alter the Crimson Tide’s signs before traveling out west. But it turns out, Saban isn’t too concerned over the matter.
“Not really,” Saban said to the media on Monday. “We always change things up a little bit but we’re focused on what we have to do to get good execution and we’re not really concerned about any that stuff.”
