JUST IN: Two QB Beloved In Detroit Will Face Off At Ford Field In Playoffs

From Earlier Sunday Night

In early 2021, Detroit quarterback Matt Stafford, who was beloved in this town, was traded to the Los Angeles Rams for Ram’s quarterback Jared Goff.

Stafford went on to win the Super Bowl. The Lions went 3-13-1 that season.

Ouch!

Lions fans weren’t pleased with that deal.

Now, Goff has just led the Lions to the playoffs with a 12-5 record. The Rams finished strong with a 10-7 record — good enough to bring them to Detroit’s Ford Field next week for a showdown in the first round of the playoffs.

Goff is beloved in Detroit. But there’s plenty folks in Detroit who still have a soft spot for Stafford who showed nothing but loyalty to the team and fans during his long tenure, from 2009 to 2020.

Truth be told, if the Lions win, Detroit fans will be elated. If the Rams prove victorious, expect plenty of Detroit fans to root for Stafford to make it to the Super Bowl again.

The game is certain to draw national attention.
