Last night, there was good news: Snooker star made ‘one of the best shots ever’

Judd Trump dazzled with what many are calling one of the best snooker shots of all time during his 6-4 comeback win over Shaun Murphy in the Champion of Champions quarter-finals. The match was finely poised at 3-3 with Trump staring at a 31-point deficit when he wowed the crowd and even impressed his opponent in Bolton.

With just one red on the table but left in an awkward position on the cushion, Trump had to go for a colour and either play safe or try an audacious kiss to free the last remaining red. He took the latter option and sliced perfectly between the brown and blue to nudge the red after potting the yellow.

By hammering the yellow in with enough backspin to cue the white to the opposite side of the table, he was able to perfectly kiss the red free as it landed over the middle pocket. Trump was able to clean up and claim victory, with his stunning shot the confidence boost he perhaps needed to reach the final four to set up a clash with Barry Hawkins.

Fans on social media went into a frenzy when Trump’s shot was shared, with many claiming that it was the greatest they had ever seen. On X (formerly known as Twitter), @KEARNEYATWHEEL wrote: “That’s it, my new favourite shot of all time and it isn’t close.”

While @DarrenHaig2 added: “One of the best shots in years!!” and his sentiments were echoed by @james_harding20 who wrote: “Probably the best shot I’ve ever seen live… Trump has cue power like no other, absolutely incredible. Take some time to enjoy this.”

@AFCandboxing was another social media user to enjoy Trump’s effort: “Could genuinely be the best shot I’ve ever seen. Everything about it is absolutely perfect.”
